Chairman’s Statement

If life is about lessons then the biggest one I can share is if Dave Williams asks for a favor tell him ‘NO’, he asked me for a small favor of sponsorship and it has cost me thousands of pound and every Saturday.  Yet seeing everything come together in the last 2 months has made all the money and time well worth it.

When Dave and I took over the club we inherited a number of problems and a bad reputation, we now believe that we have gone a long way to solving these problems and we are now a team that other sides fear due to our football and not our on pitch dramatics.

Although a lot of changes have taken place it would have been impossible without the commitment of the players who have all dug deep during a really sticky November to start winning ways.  An interesting Stat is we have only lost 2 in our last 10 and conceded very few goals thanks in majority to some unbelievable performance from Mark Elliot and Dan Kelly at center back.

Also a special mention should be made to Rob Wilkinson and Shaun have been great squad players fitting in whenever Dave and Myself make a mistake and playing whatever position we require.

Next year we are going for promotion, and with the Lanes End Galatico’s making up the back 4 we have a real chance of getting up the leagues, the other goal next season is to find our own ground with a clubhouse that actually shows the football results, one thing that will be pride of place is a life size bronze statue of the club moaner/sectary Dave Carey, without Dave we would be no-where and he is very much the unsung hero of Lanes End.
